A sunny, light wind day with 100% snow cover of less then 1" greeted the 52 athletes, in three fleets, on the first day of the 2010 Great Western Challenge.

Day two brought more of the same with a bit more breeze at times.

Thank you for the great regatta! Special thanks to JD, who picked Jörg and me up at the airport, Dick and Julie for giving the spareboat on Friday, Jimmy, who took my delayed luggage from Minnehaha Airport to Sturgeon Lake and Ron, bringing the new boat from Detroit. I enjoyed to be the first time in the states, sailing DN and also to watch the ice optis on the regatta. I am sure that these young iceboaters will be very successfull!
I arrived at home in Germany right now. Thank you all and see you in January to the worlds on ice.

Dutch Fleet

The Dutch Fleet will thank everyone who made this event a great weekend of icesailing.
We want to thank the guys who lent us there iceboats so we can participate The Great Western Challenge.
Special thanks to Ron Sherry, who was taking care of us this whole weekend. Thanks Ron!!
Thanks Loretta for the great food!

Hope we will be there next year.

Great Time

Had a great time on Saturday and wish I could have continued on Sunday. Great to see all the familiar faces on the ice. Thanks to all those that help put on this event.
