Notice of Race
2005 IDNIYRA Central Lakes Regional Championship Regatta – February 12-13
Organizing Authority: IDNIYRA Central Lakes Region
Host: North American Central Lakes Region
1. Rules: All races will be governed by the Racing Rules of the National Iceboat Authority; the By-Laws of the IDNIYRA; the Notice of Race, including any amendments to the Notice of Race, (except as any of these are altered by the sailing instructions) and the Sailing Instructions. The Sailing Instructions may be modified at the Skippers’ Meeting.
2. Eligibility: All DN class yachts meeting the requirements of the Official Specifications and whose skippers are members in good standing of the IDNIRYA are eligible to enter and race in the championship.
3. Site Information:
A. The best ice in the Central Lakes Region.
B. Site and headquarters information will be available on the Official Regatta Hotline which is 248 988 0851.
C. Site information may be posted on the IDNIYRA website, however the Hotline information shall be the Official information.
4. Entry, Deadline and Fee:
A. The Official Entry Form must be submitted and signed. See entry forms in Runner Tracks and on the IDNIYRA website.
B. The entry fee is $20.00 (US) if postmarked or received by the Wednesday before the regatta and $30.00 (US) if later.
D. On the ice registration may be accepted at the discretion of the Race Committee and a penalty may be levied. Phone in, check in and registration information will be available on the Hotline.
5. Schedule of Events:
February 6, 2005 9:00 p.m. EST hotline site information will be available
February 9, 2005 9:00 p.m. EST hotline update
February 11, 2005 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Final registration and check in for all competitors at site announced on the Official Hotline.
February 12, 2005 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. Late registration on the ice.
February 12, 2005 10:00 a.m. Skippers meeting on the ice.
February 12, 2005 10:15 a.m. First race.
February 13, 2005 9:30 a.m. First race Sunday No fleet will be called to the line after 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
6. Sailing Instructions will be available at final registration and check in.
7. Prizes shall be awarded.
8. Number of Races: Three gold fleet races necessary for a complete regatta. No more than eight races per fleet.
9. Fleets: Two fleets may be sailed. Fleet splitting will be voluntary, but Race Committee reserves the right to split according to rankings or at their discretion.
10. Starting Line will be a steel cable or polypropylene line.
