Mead 22' Tandom

My buddy and I found a severly delapitated Mead 22' tandom and spent months restoring it. we got it about 90% complete, which means its sailable, which means thats where the work stopped. It sails great, I've never had more fun in a snowmobile suit. 2 years ago we hit 74mph on the GPS with a sail that has a 1956 reggata stamp on it. Later we lost the forestay and shattered the mast. But, we fixed that and I think it got faster as we stood the mast up straighter with the new forestay. In winds over 15mph I roll right by Nites, but she doesn't do well in light winds. It weighs a ton! I have a few pics on this web site and I'll email you a short video. Mine is a 1942, so it was built with out a spring board and a 16' plank. The spring board on mine was added later. I think Mead started building them with spring boards in 1946 and put them on 18' planks. That bit of trivia may help you date yours. I a lot of info on the Four Lakes website.
