Are you interested in runner camber or stearing post angle? I have a stearing runner which is a short bull-nose style and it is very twitchy. I compared it to a snow style front runner I have which gives me great preformance. I noticed that the "flat" area on the bull-nose style is centered under the pivot hole and the snow style runner has the "flat" centered about one inch behind the pivot center. Both runners were Sarns runners but the snow style was probably made by Bill himself.
My new boat has 4 degrees of actually, caster. Although I typically don't have a big problem with my steering runner washing out (I keep it really sharp), it does seem to have more grip.I hope it will give me a little more tiller cenering, I think it does.
