Iceboaters Gone Good???

karol jablonski Karol Jablonski, P 36, After winning 7 DN World Championships on the ice, (2nd in four more) is he now a "has been"? ... Where has he been? We haven't seen him on the ice for a while... It seems he's been a bit distracted with another serious effort.

Karol is the helmsman on Desafio Espanol 2007,... Go win this for your hardwater buddies, and they're racing right now.

It would be really cool to see a Hardwater Sailor win the America's Cup... again! Buddy who?

With a Bye in Flight One, The team won their first Round Robin Race in the Luis Vuitton Cup in Valencia Spain Yesterday over +39 Challenge (whats with that name, +39? are they all old guys?... in reality, people tell me +39 is the telephone dialing code for Italy ) Desafio Espanol 2007 - tight start

Racing Continues today with Desafio Espanol taking on Areva Challenge in Flight 3 and the Latin Rascals, Mascalzone Latino - Capitalia in Flight 4... at this moment they're under postponement with the breeze building.

Great Job Desafio!

The last iceboater in America's Cup Competition, before Karol, was a guy named Buddy, in his first effort in 1987, (US51 Heart of America) they didn't even make the Semi Finals, finishing in 8th out of 13 boats competing in the Luis Vuitton Cup. Going on to win the Cup in the next "real" challenge in 1992 with America ^3.

Desafio Espanol 2007 has made an excellent first step in America's Cup Competition.

Spanish Saturdays... again

Two impressive come from behind win's today for the Green Spanish Boat.

The position changes against Shosholoza in Flight 7 and a protest initated resailed Flight 4 race against the Latin Rascals today, both passes coming on the first downwind legs, the way we do it on hardwater, were very impressive.

4 points today, put Desafio in a strong 4th place position, with four races in this round remaining. Desafio has yet to face Oracle - BMW, whom only Desafio and stunningly Team China have defeated in match racing, and Luna Rosa, both ahead in the standings and the Swedish boat, Victory Challenge, trailing by 5 points, and United Internet Team Germany, the first ever German Boat in America's Cup Competition.

Only 4 boats will advance to the semi-final round.

Well sailed!

20+ Knots Today in Valencia

should be exciting.

Round Robin 1, two races remaining...

Desafio Espanol is currently tied for 3rd with two key races remaining... in half an hour, against Round 1 Leader, USA 98, Oracle BMW, and in the final round against Luna Rosa, the boat they're currently tied with, one point out of second.

The latin rascals are a point back...

A win today for Desafio would speak loudly.

A major upset in the making?

Desafio Espanol is leading undefeated Oracle BMW, Going up the second beat in flight 10 of round robin 1 in the Luis Vuitton Cup.

Up and down the Spaniards have demonstrated boatspeed at least on a par with the previously unbeaten American Boat.

Beating the boat to beat in front of the home crowd is so sweet.
