we are on our 3rd sheet of black ice this season.at present time i'm skating on 2.5'' black ice.forecast not good,heavy rain tonight,changing to heavy snow tomorrow.no sailing today,high is mid 30's after overnight low in teens

ciyoti open should continue today,only 2" snow last night,wind 10-15sw,high of 40,29 right now.waiting for wind right now,sw @3.morning walk on hard pebble ice w/ light snow cover. sailed to dusk last night w/ increasing wind all day,very fast in spite of slight pebble surface.Great sailing.low turn out,big scrapbooking day I gueass!

late report...racing concluded 10am leap day under sunny skies,wind sw 15,gusts 25+,strong sun and softening ice.very worthwhile boat'n.sat 3/1 brought hard ice a.m.,snow disappeared friday,however due to lack of wind the open concluded w/ morning skate and de-rigging saturday. sunday brought 72 temps and ice out. the good news is that currently temps are in the 20's w/ a cold week ahead,major snowfall forecasted...we may not be done yet!THINK ICE!

thats right sheet 4 is here and sailable. A brief tour last night over the 3-4" fully enclosed sheet of pebble ice in a fading nw breeze puts us back on the map.....for now.ciyoti ugly
,but no need to gnaw off your arm,put your goggles on and sail today.present wind is se10 forecast 10-20.snow on the plate for tonight and weekend through
the 40's to 50 by sunday.This may be it for the southern most!

hope to see you guys if this thing takes place 3/7 or later after hockey season, and no I have not been scrapbooking,have gotten 9 days boaten this season all on black ice,quality if not quantity.have won every race i've sailed! horizon jobs over the scrapbookers!

you might have something there carpe, after last nights 1" rain and 20-30 sounth wind right now i'm watching the latest sheet break-up.thats right,here today-goon tomorrow,the story of our beautiful Lake here in the land of ciyoti!had to rescue a fish basket used as hockey net blown off dock last night....by CANOE!accompanied by my son and dog it was mission accomplished/The dog even barked at the neighbors ciyoti decoy fo goose abaitment! However if history repeats we are not done yet!Hope to make regional in 3 weeks or later??
ice returns
Black Ice has returned to Ciyoti Terretory,we are not in hibernation yet!skated this morning off Troopers LOdge 41.Main Body 60% frozen w/ wind holes,should close up when wind ceases.blowing snow accross sheet at present time.

due to the 3" fresh snow over 3" black ice Troopers is not advised for saturday. While checking today,noticed fresh CIYOTI tracks and then out of the timber and accross the basin spooked our native mascot!
