I'm planning to leave straight from work tomorrow, so I loaded up the boat and gear this evening while it was warm and the sun was still out (thanks to the earlier Daylight Savings Time switch!).
I'm hoping to get to Pepin around 4:00pm Friday and setup the boat so Saturday morning is a little less hectic, and I can help out with registration and stuff.
The weather forecasts have been pretty stable for the past few days. Wind Saturday is supposed to build from 6 mph in the early morning to around 10 mph at 2:00pm; steady from the SW all day. Sunday looks similar but a bit lighter and from the SE (along the river, so hopefully we'll get some venturi effect increase). Overnight to Saturday the low temperature is supposed to be about 23F, increasing to the mid-40's in the afternoon. Overnight to Sunday should go just below freezing, and rise again into the mid-40's. There may be some more overcast Sunday.
See you on the ice!
