present condition:8"black ice,5" blowing snow. sailed sun.,mon,tues.on clear ice w/ hoar frost,wed-no wind.this is the central illinois (LAKE SPRINGFIELD)report for 1/7/2010.

GP2360 too cold mon tues Decatur, sailed weds before snow on same black ice in country club basin..now 5" stiff snow requiring 15+ for ride some awesome drifts..lets check Clinton, maybe blown off...

i agree, worth a

i agree, worth a check.sailed fri night here,snow loose enough. drifting out on lake.sailed this morning, enough to tack,fly a runner etc.,but the further out i went,the drifts have become hard. i have an active construction job this winter so a little less freedom.you think clinton has less snow?i'm planning on regional,however next weekend is tough,hockey in chicago,if centrals go then i'm on for the 23rd.pre reged for na's.hope to get together!

1/10-SW WIND 10-15,TEMP:-10 TO 19.ENOUGH WIND TO PUNCH THROUGH.DRIFTS ARE 6'' MAX,MANY SHALLOW<1" SNOW COVERED LANES.ALL PRESSURE HEAVES TIGHTLY HEALED.2 BOATS SAILED ALL DAY.LOOKS LIKE THE MAGIC NUMBER NOW IS 10MPH.AUGERED 9" CLEAR ICE UNDER SNOW.TODAY WEST WIND 10-15 AND A BALMY 25 DEGREES.SAILING AFTER WORK THIS AFTERNOON IF WIND HOLDS.
