Kne Smith is looking for ice for the 2010 Westerns that was not held last winter. He is considering Dec 11-12 or 18-19. He wants ice reports. I am up in Sandstone Mn, 15 miles south of last weekends Sturgeon Lake. They have had just a few snow flurries on top of the minor 1 inch on top of 7 inches of decent snow ice. It could be slightly more sticky than last weekend as it sat on the ice. I will try to stop back late this afternoon or Wed afternoon to check it out. A slight snow event is predicted for Wed eve in the area. Ray & Marges Resort would love to host us again along with a few fishouses, now that they know it is safe!!
Another option could be Lake Pepin in the area that was not froze over before last Fri eves snow. Any checkers in that area?
I do not have my DNAmerica password, so posting here.
postponed one week
The weather forcasts for all available sailing sites are not acceptable for holding a regatta this weekend.

Sturgeon Lake, MN
At 4 PM Tues Ray & Marges Resort reported no new snow and about 8 inches of ice. The fish houses that are out are only spaced along the shore and not in the sailing area.
Light snow showers are predicted on/off Thurs- Fri.with colder weather by the weekend.

Spirit Lake, Okoboji, Emmestsburg, Worthington, Clear Lake.
Is there anyone down there that can give an ice report? Those area's missed the snow event last week and should be frozen by now.

Poygan?
Pepin should be fine, but for the Thursday forecast,
Ten Mile Lake near Walker is still open water,
Currently I'd bet Poygan Lake near OshKost as the perfect spot right now without an ice report to verify.
