Union lake location

Is this the Union Lake close to Erskine, MN, ~35 east of Crookston/60 W. of Bemidji just off of Hwy 2? We spend a fair amount of time there but we could not recognize the part of the lake you were on. Was it between Upper and Lower Union? Where were the sailors from?
