After two days of searching for suitable ice, having lost excellent pieces on Green Bay and access to excellent ice on Northern Lake Winnebago they are pleased to announce an Outstanding Piece of ice is located at Poygan Lake, near Oshkosh Wi. The same site as last year's Western Regional Championship Regatta... The Ice is characterized as a 9.9 with no apparent open water. The Western Rear Commodore recomments the longest, fastest runners in your arsenal to compete.

To Sailing Area from Launch Site: Push/sail across heaves at 20 yards and ½ mile Straight out an to the Right (East) …. So stay west of the second big heave about 2 miles out, running North / South. There is an outstanding sheet of ice at this location.

Housing is at Hilton Gardens in OshKosh, (near the airport) on 41 exit 116, EAA exit. Iceboat Rate of $69.99

Directions to Hotel from Hightway 41. Take the Hwy 44 exit off of Hwy 41, travel East to West 20th Avenue and take a right at the stop lights. The hotel is on the right hand side of the road, on Wittman Regional Airport grounds.

Turn Left into town, turn Right on B Go 6.5 miles to launch site
