Congratulations to Mr Ron Sherry for a strong showing on Sunday in the light air. He came back to win the regatta and at the same time he had a great time getting his boys out on the ice for an epic father son weekend.
Silver Fleet went to our man in Madison, Dave Elsmo! I'm sure his enthusiasm for iceboating, and his role as college sailing coach, has really ignited the college iceboating scene around the four lakes area.
Thanks to everybody for coming together and getting the four races for each fleet in. They had to be run under tight time limits. Saturday we barely got the racing in before the sun went behind the bluffs. On Sunday we had to get started as early as possible as the wind was going light and the blizzard was fast approaching for the drive home. Thanks to everybody working as a team, we all had some nice racing.

thanks for your patience
The delay in getting the results posted was due to the fact that I was programming the iphone app to score the races. I used this chance to speed up the data entry user interface, debug the tie routine, and create the share display to email out the results.
If you see any problems, please let me know. I'm happy to change the DNS's to DNF or whatever else is not correct.
Sounds great that your app
Sounds great that your app works. Chapeau.
Questions:
Is the result list postet by the app?
Is there a chance to port the app to Android too?

I use the built in share widget that you see on the share a photo, for example.
It pulls up the email and the copy and paste share icon and I just pass the widget the results in a text string (I used tabs for field breaks).
Evidently I can do other types of data so I guess it could be html.
Then the user fills out the email with the race results in the body of the email. Then I pasted that email into the website with pre tags.
Does that make sense?
I hope to have it publish the results straight into the Yearbook for the Continental Regattas.
As for the Android. I use the RESTKIT library to handle the data caching. I don't think there is the same library for android, but for what we are doing there probably is something like or similar. Once we get the server side working and the details hammered out, maybe someone will take that on. But I'd have to say, at this point, no plans for Android. It will work on an ipod touch or an older iphone.

you did all the work!
Thank you for coming, well, almost, into Minnesota. You could see Minnesota from the race course. So that counts.
You and everybody that travelled so far to come and participate was really an inspiration for me.
Too bad we didn't get in that last race. I could have used a throw out more then most.
