DN Western Challenge
DN Western Challenge: December 1 -3, 2023
Attention all DN sailors: The Western Challenge is tentatively called on and is scheduled for the first weekend in December, on the best ice in Minnesota.
It's time to get the whole gang back together, everyone is welcome.
The exact location will be announced as we get closer to the event. No promises, but our goal is a repeat of last year’s epic ice.
The Western Challenge is an informal, fun regatta, for DNs. Sailors of all abilities are encouraged to attend. Come learn about DN sailing, test your gear, meet up with friends, and do some scrub racing. The Fun starts on Friday, always the best day.

2 wk forecasting looking good for ice sat/sun after thanksgiving up the rd at christina. 11/21. forecast looking cold so lets hope by sat/ sun enough ice. 11/26. christina plenty of ice but froze somewhat rough. being check monday. pelican. battles lake water. etc so see how it works at christina monday and hoping smoother by friday. still searching for other options. meyer. ps. thunder bay area has ice!! 11/28. called on for christina! weather outlook is great
