Great DN Western Challenge Regatta > update

We're expecting a huge event, unprecedented indications of attendance from sailors around the world, Join us in Kicking Off the 2006/2007 North American DN Season

Intial feedback from sailors, 65 have confirmed they expect to be on the ice, 5 or 6 Europeans, an Aussie skiff sailor, 6 former Continental or World Champions ... we expect it to be a great fleet, great event on great ice.

If you're planning on sailing, please advise... we have things to plan that really require something of a head count.

Headquarters: Fergus Falls Best Western see regatta notice for numbers etc.

Launch Site: Collins Landing, West Arm Dead Lake, Maine MN.

As always, sailors of all abilities are welcome at Minnesota Ice Sailing Association events...

I'm not sure of the final head-count, but at least one Madisonian will be there, likely a couple.

Arrival is somewhere between Thursday night and noon Friday, depending on schedules.

How many guys are coming from up there?

So far it appears ample, assuming the primary site stays "Sweet"... ~ 60 confirmed competitors

30 or so vehicle/trailer parking places at the public ramp, we expect enough ice that trailers may be able to stay on the ice there. The Collins landing facility across the bay (with some ammenities) can probably accomodate twice that number...

4 of the 5 other sites under observation are ample as well...
