White Bear Lake

Sailed Sunday AM in strong winds with a handful of local sailors. Started at 9 am and finished at 1 pm. Ice was deteriorating rapidly and when the boats were pulled of the ice most of the skippers got wet from going through in shallow water. The main lake still had 20 inches of good ice but access is difficult. Many runner sized drain holes were seen out in the lake as well as a few boat sized ones. I think the rain today and the rest of the week has killed the season. You will need to head way north to get any more ice sailing this year.

Two inches of Rain over most of state

Lakes with Ice we'd been watching for late sailing have been inundated... most of northern Minnesota is in a Flood Warning... 2 inches of rain has recently fallen from Alexandria to Bemidji...
