I received a very short message a few moments ago, (middle of the night), a lake in the Detroit Lakes MN area froze yesterday, Saturday Nov 28.
Still waiting for information about Christina near Ashby.
Expect more details after first light here in Minnesota

it's not against the law to delay a week. my new boat looks better without the plank torn off in a duck hole that just froze over.

I just spoke to the Ashby Resort owner on the shores of Pelican & Christina. He reports a few small bays and pot holes have some skim ice only. Christina and Pelican are wide open with boats on Pelican yesterday! I had the same report from a friend up at Battle Lake and Ottertail Lake.
The weeks forecast does look promising starting Tues night with lows down to 18-20 F and highs below freezing all week after that with no snow! Hope it can make an inch a day and be ready for Friday.
