Week 3 in Minnesota

About 20 DN's, including a number of totally new (3 or 4)DNer's/Boats lined up for an excellent day on Minnetonka, just after noon the 5-10 mph wind built into ~ 15-20 mph with some higher gusts, leaving a big smile frozen to most faces. There were a couple of very dramatic spins, a little gear sacrificed to the winds.

The sailing area is essentially clear ice with ~ 1/2" of frost/ice crystals whitening the surface, most guys that had skinny inserts found them to be the runner of choice, 1/4" runners didn't seem burdened at all by this cover.

What a hoot!

Sailing is expected to continue at this location Sunday for sure.

6 DNs on tonka this afternoon

6 DNs sailed the echo bay / lafayette bay / greenwood area on Lake Minnetonka. Andy F., Randy J., Steve K., Jimmy M., Curt ? and myself (the newbie). It was awesome. I would say that Lafayette was a little shifty with less velo and had more snow than the other areas so we eventually worked our way southeast to several big loops around Gayle Island. Thanks to the veterans for the advice. Tomorrow is supposed to be nuking and snow is also predicted... we'll see what happens.
