Thanks Hutt for the ice report of Christina. Sunday's wind forcast looks to be about 7MPH out of the NW. Let's hope it builds to 10.
I am loading up now for an 8:30 departure, maybe. I do not want to be the only one sailing on Christina with minimum ice conditions. Please call me if anyone else heading up!

Lake Christina was good to us!
7 of us ventured up to Lake Christina, near Ashby MN for a Sunday sail on ice. It was light until about 1PM then got us screaming along in 8-12 MPH with a few puffs. We sailed most of the lake on 3-4 inches of solid ice covered by a half inch of light fluff. No holes noted in the ice and no duck or coot holes. The neighbor Lake Pelican appeared to be almost all covered in ice also. I posted an image of us in library images, but I do not know how to post here! (how about this? - 4695)
Pray the Tues/Wed snow event stays South as predicted.

Alexandria Mn ice report
A friend of mine was in Alexandria this weekend and filed this report.
ICE REPORT: Lake Darling, right outside of Alex was wide open Friday night and frozen solid Saturday morning.
Sailed on Otter Tail Lake today :)
Sailed one DN and my "Homemade" ice boat on Otter Tail Lake this afternoon. The ice is perfect! (just a bit thin, about 3" but very strong) We were able at sail along the south shore, thanks to a 8-12 mph north wind. I plan to sail again on monday. If you care to join me give me a call or send me an e-mail.

Ice reports
Greg took some pics Sun afternoon, but they were each too big to upload. Sorry. Any suggestions?
Ice was fairly smooth with 1/2" lite snow.
Buffalo Lake had patches of open water from shore out to about 500 yds. as viewed from Montrose Road on East side. Open water appeared to exist in SW quadrant of lake. Near shore ice looked to be 1-1 1/4" thick, lite snow covered, fairly smooth.

I upped the max size
I upped the max image upload size to 20MB. Try it again. Otherwise, if you have a really fancy camera you might have to resize the image with a image editor on your computer.
Ice-checking in-progress...
Kiefer (aka "the IceMaker") just called to say two DNs are setting up to check the ice on Christina this morning (Sunday).
Boats are setting up on X-tina...
...as of 10 am. Mike M, Flyer et al are on the road.

Wind???
Fargo wind just went calm!! Not a good sign. I will probably change my mind on the drive to Christina, unless my arm gets twisted by a few others. Call me if going up.
