I was thinking about sailing Minnetonka this afternoon (Friday). Any other interest?? I'm set up at Shorewood yacht club, and will probably stay in that bay due to high winds and bad shell ice on the rest of the lake.
Sailing this morning was good on the main lake. Probably 50-60 MPH. The drifts are 2-4", and very hard packed with tons of resistance. Once the wind died at noon, had to push all the way back. There is now a lot more vehicle traffic. Between the rough ice, shell ice, hard packed snow, and vehicle traffic, Tonka might be done for a while.
Only sailed for about 15
Only sailed for about 15 minutes before determining I was way too overpowered. Will try again Saturday morning.
