Based on a kiter report of 4” grade 10 ice a large group will scout Silver Lake west on Hwy 7 about 30 miles, on Wednesday morning. Winds look to be 10-11mph. West Arm was great but had a hazard!
Many iceboats have been on Silver Lake for 5 days with no reported issues with the sheet. Sunday at 10:30 is the next session. Setting up on south side DNR launch.

Big areas of open water north of Coney Island and offshore from NE launch ramp, big enough to prohibit a good run. Thought it would freeze up with the near zero temps, but too much wind.
The area south of the island and (I heard) Wagner's Bay are solid, but watch for springs.
It sounded like Whaletail Lake is good (what about Swedes Lake?) for sailing in the western Metro.

Lake Waconia Ice conditions
