I've been interested in this sport for years! I now feel I'm ready to join in. I think I should start by buying a DN. Over the summer I can tweek it to my spec.s. Any leads on DN's for sail would be appreciated!
Thank You.
Would someone please clean up the porn spam?
Thanks,
Dave
We bought a two seat skeeter Nov. of 2005 from this site and I was wondering if someone could tell me the specifications of a C-Class Skeeter. Thanks Craig
Two boat DN trailer for sale located in NYC $1000
Hi,
I'm very new to this. I've windsurfed but am looking to build a snowsurfer and an ice surfer. I saw the photos of Klicker's New IceSurfer and was impressed by not just the looks, awesome as it is, but also by the materials used and the craftsmanship. I'd like to see a photo of the bottom of the rig if possible. Can anyone point me toward Klicker? I'd like to know the advantages or disadvantages of the three blade style verses the four blade "freeskate" style.
Any help would be appreciated as I try to build my first wildthing.
Life is good,
Bob

On Friday there was too much wind..
On Saturday there was a pretty fresh breeze as well and we got in 2 races per fleet, (DN, Renegade, Skeeter E, Skeeter A,B,D, Stern Steerers)
It was pretty crazy out there.. with some cracks in the ice, and we even abandoned the last race after Steve Orlebeke went into a working crack going upwind... that was it for the day..
Before the Stern Steerers got off their first race (they go last), there was a little incident in the pits... the duece got loose..
It's been a bit chilly up here in Minnesota... a big chunk of Superior's frozen... to our delight as iceboaters... we'll be there real soon.
Just got this from my Dad, Sweet ol Bruce,
and thought I'd share:
How About That Weather????
60 above zero:
Floridians turn on the heat.
People in Minnesota plant gardens.
50 above zero:
Californians shiver uncontrollably.
People in Duluth sunbathe.
40 above zero:
Italian & English cars won't start.
People in Minnesota drive with the windows down.
32 above zero:
Distilled water freezes.
The water in Bemidji gets thicker. (there's 4" of ice on Lake Christina)
Small drifts I went thru on Sat. were no problem if enough speed was maintained, but if I had to push thru them to get started, it felt like mud. With the latest snow there are no open spots to get started in. Can you get started thru 2" of powder and a 15 MPH wind? I am just looking to save a little sweat finding out NO the hard way.

Ice is on its way here in Toledo Ohio. Im looking at a thin layer on Shantee Creek (near tha Maumee Bay) and hope it stays. Global warming has surely made a mess of things our way. My Arrow will be waiting for ice and big winds in the near future I hope.
Sorry for that, I have now learned that a C-Skeeter is as close as a Class3 you can come.
Class3 for ice is steadily growing in Europa and there are now about 60 yachts only in Sweden. A Class3 iceboat is a transfer of european Class3 landyacht similar to E-Skeeters but restricted in runner base and track.
I am aware of the transport problem but it would still be interesting to find out your interest in the organisation of a Gold Cup for Skeeters.
I had the opportunity to meet sailors who took part in the first DN Gold Cup in Sweden 1973. This regatta is still very well organized alternating every second year between Europa and USA.
