Swede Lake (north of Waconia ) has 3 inches of smooth sailable ice. If you stayed local this weekend, come on out! Not much wind today, but probably enough. I am going to see up the ice surfer / free skate / windsurfer thing. I also drove by Waconia, which is half froze and will lock in tonight.

I am looking for a plank set up for #220, Affordable insert runners, and maybe a Forstmann boom. Smaller items I would be interested in would be a set of inside attachment plates, socket style mast step base, tiller locking pin, and Sta Masters for side stays. I am also looking at modifying my cockpit. if anyone is having a shop might I would like to attend and contribute. Please let me know!

The decision has been made to be under postponement for 1 week.
Next update on Friday the 2nd of December, and then more info after the weekend scout(s) report in.
Regatta under Postponement until Friday Dec 9th (practice, like usual), Sat-Sun Dec 10th and 11th.

We have some potential up in ThunderBay but with a few days of warm temps and some rain it's hard to predict.
We need to see how bad it goes this week and then how cold it is over the next weekend. If it got cold enough, Christina could still be in the mix.

If anyone knows of anything that is frozen it would be great to hear from you.

If you happened to drive County Road 15 today you may have noticed the ice behind the break wall at North Shore Marina-Browns Bay facility. Two miles to the east the pond next to the entrance to Woodhill Country Club was also frozen. Of course, both of these sightings paled in comparison to the photo of ice on Lake Christina that was circulated earlier today by DN Western Region Commodore Mike Miller.

Tim Carlson of Sailcrafters is hosting his 8th Annual Ice Boat Swap Meet on Saturday, November 5, 2016. 10 am to 1pm. This swap met is popular with the Minnetonka, White Bear and Bald Eagle sailors. There promises to be lots of DN and Nite equipment along with several complete packages. If we are lucky we may even see a C-Skeeter courtesy of “Drifter.” Anyone looking to upgrade equipment or buy a complete boat is encouraged to attend.
