SYC and Seven Seas will be hosting a iceboat swap meet on Saturday Nov. 6th between 10am and 2pm.
All are welcome to buy, sell, talk smart and mingle. Free.
Shorewood Yacht Club is located on the shores of Lake Minnetonka, 20 minutes west of Minneapolis.
From 494, take Highway #7 west 6.5 miles to C.R.#19, right on 19 .5 miles. SYC is on the right. (blue Xboat with sign in the driveway)

After months of utter BS from all sides of the political spectrum, it’s time for Nite sailors to spend some political assets of their own in the inaugural Stimulus Package, a new regatta designed to:

A) Introduce (or re-ignite) cruising Nite sailors to the fun of racing, and
B) Provide some early-season racing for those waiting for their home lakes to freeze.

It’s safe to say that once a cruising Nite owner sails just a few races, they’re hooked. And suddenly that boat that gets used about one day every five years gets some real use all the time.

Christina should start freezing late next week and an ice checking expedition is/may be in the works for Saturday Nov 20th, depending on reports up north.

I’m looking for a set of Sarns Bull Nosed Runners 26” front runner, 30” side runners.

I recently acquired what looks to be a very old DN. It is made mostly of dimensional lumber, there is very little plywood in its construction. All the hardware is galvanized, there is no stainless. The sail is made of sailcloth with several sewn in patches. There appears to be no battens. The sail has the number 78 embroidered onto it. How can I find out who might have built DN # 78? Thanks Fred

DN ICEBOATS FOR SALE:

I have two POLISH DN Iceboats for sale. They are both build with great craftsmanship - take your pick at $1,500 each. These hulls were brought over to the US for the 2009 WOLDS and NA's and have been in my basement since. The are both excellent race platforms for anyone looking to upgrade. Both hulls have all the required hardware including steering assembly, carbon tillers and mast steps.

Two beautiful, custom-made DNs of douglas fir and mahogany for sale due to the untimely passing of my father. Both have full riggings included (runner plank, runners, aluminum masts/booms, sails, covers, etc.). Both handcrafted in JF Snyder's Boatshop on Lake Winnebago, Wisconsin. Extensive photos available.
